The icons are some small pictures that can be pasted on your folder, documents, hard disk... You can also just collect them for the pleasure! :)

Use

Mac:
To paste an icon,
1) select the icon you want to paste
2) open the window "Get Info", from the File menu (Command-I)
3) select the icon and copy
4) select the file you want to change
5) open the window "Get Info"
6) select the icon and paste.

If you use Mac OS 8.x, you can simply change your icon with the "finder icon menu" contextual menu, available at PixtureStudio.

Downloads

Mac: All your downloads need to be unstuffed with StuffIt, available at Alladin.

PC: All your downloads need to be unzipped with WinZip, available at WinZip.

System Mac OS 7.x
Run under any Mac OS system (and under Windows, if you download the Windows format)
Icons in 256 colors, in 32x32 pixels.

System Mac OS 8.5
Run under Mac OS 8.5 and later. They can be used on older systems and on Windows (if you downlad the Windows format), but they won't look as good as they should.
Icons in thousands colors, in 32x32 pixels, and with a 8-bits mask.
X
System Mac OS X
Look better with Mac OS X. These icons are 128x128 pixels, with thousands of colors and 8-bits mask. They can be used on older OS, but they'll be 32x32 pixels.
